1. creepy little poems
1a. Rosie went into the wood
Hair was hidden with a hood
Baba Yaga saw her there
Ate her up with out a care
1b. Thomas fell into the well
Down to where the monsters dwell
Baba Yaga fished him up
Then cooked him in a yellow cup
1c. Annie got a little lost
Tripped across a patch of moss
Baba Yaga snatched her quick
And ate her brains up with a lick
1d. Johnny let his light burn out
Then disappeared with out a shout
Baba Yaga gave him light
With her oven burning bright
2. I wrote a dialog of three b.y. daughters talking about the little boy they are standing around and have orders from momma to cook just before he goes all crazy on their asses and bakes them instead but it would be really long to post here and I cant figure out the jump HTML so I'll email it

ReplyDeleteok. SO I have no idea what Ashur's trying to say. First your little poem deals made me think edward gorey, and then I imagined those kinds of images really sparely (like not too many frames) animated. THEN I thought well how would that feel translate to the stage. My first thought was a strobe light effect, but I don't really think we should do that...
ReplyDeleteRe the scene/convo yo e-mailed about BYs daughters. I really like the image of the shoes. Do you imagine indicating some kind of lapse of time between the lights going out and us seeing their shoes? To keep it still pretty ambiguous, it could be cool if, while the daughters wer preoccupied ("hoofbeats. dawn.) the little boy suddenly sat up and then the lights went out?
I really like the boy sitting up while they're busy bickering and then kicking some ass.

Actually I keep imagining Declan when he was beating up Mark, which is another question.
There are some tiny kids on campus that might look like kids but I don't think we should try to mask the fact we're a bunch of college kids too much.
haha, Declan in too short pants and suspenders and rosey cheeks painted on.
but I guess casting is pretty far away, just something to think about.
and I'm not saying we should cast Declan or anything, just that sort of manic glee.
